New foods this week - Chicken Feet Soup and Cow Hoof Soup... When in Quininde he ate pig tongue and pig ear... Today, a lady in the area made them some American food:) french fries and other things. Yesterday, he spoke in church!  The talk was on missionary work. Now for some pictures:) Look! As you can see, Elder Miller has been working out! Elder Jacobs has been working out too! Seltzer water? Oreo with blue filling They found the Arnold Schwarzenegger picture on the side of the road, someone had thrown it out!

Freedom! 😌 Today is p-day!  Things have quieted down in the country. They were in the apartment for most of the last few weeks.  They did a lot of studying, reading, and played cards.  This past Sunday since they were still in the apartment, they had Church at home.

Update from the mission president.... Ecuador END of the PROTEST Dear Parents, The government of Lenín Moreno repeals the decree that eliminated the fuel subsidy and announces the end of the protests in all Ecuador. As a result of the dialogue, a new decree is established that leaves Decree 883 without effect, for which purpose a commission is established to prepare this new decree. The agreement was reached at a dialogue table installed on the outskirts of Quito and with the mediation of the UN. The text of the jo int press release indicates that with this agreement the mobilizations and de facto measures are terminated throughout Ecuador. And they remain jointly committed to restoring peace in the country. Since the indigenous mobilizations began, we made the decision as a mission to keep the missionaries in their homes. Last week we heard that there were protests in Ecuador and that the president had declared a state of emergency.  This is Elder Miller's response to how he was doing etc. from Sunday, October 6th. I'm doing well, me and my companion are fine, I am emailing you today because we received news that we will not be able to leave our apartment tomorrow morning. So we got permission to write our families a short message. We were able to watch general conference in English in the church. We didn't watch the women's session because we are men (Lol jk, but no we didn't see it) There are a little bit of protests, but not anything too too big for now. Supposedly some indigenous people are going to be coming to Quito to overthrow the government, but the good news is that most of those indigenous people love missionaries, because we buy their ties(lol) For these past couple of days we have been told to be in our apartments before 7 pm.
