Last week we heard that there were protests in Ecuador and that the president had declared a state of emergency.  This is Elder Miller's response to how he was doing etc. from Sunday, October 6th.

I'm doing well, me and my companion are fine, I am emailing you today because we received news that we will not be able to leave our apartment tomorrow morning. So we got permission to write our families a short message. We were able to watch general conference in English in the church. We didn't watch the women's session because we are men (Lol jk, but no we didn't see it) There are a little bit of protests, but not anything too too big for now.

Supposedly some indigenous people are going to be coming to Quito to overthrow the government, but the good news is that most of those indigenous people love missionaries, because we buy their ties(lol) For these past couple of days we have been told to be in our apartments before 7 pm. Just thought I'd write you guys to let you know we are fine, our Mission President receives revelation to guide and protect us. I know we will be fine as long as we follow the Lord day by day. Don't worry about me I know I'll be fine. I'll write you guys again as soon as possible to let you know how things go.

Sincerely, Elder Miller
