Today was very exciting, we had a very brief video chat and then a phone call. The video and volume was great on our end but it was very hard for him to hear so we had a phone call. It was so nice to be able to talk about his mission and catch up on the little things!
He continues to work on his Spanish and he is seeing improvement although he feels he still has so much to learn!
He and his companion get a ride from other missionaries on p-day to do grocery shopping, I imagine it would be pretty difficult to bring home the groceries on a bike!
He has experienced many acts of kindness from people there, a couple that had to cancel dinner with them gave them money to go out to eat. A lady they call "Grandma" is always helping including going to the store for tubes for the bike that had a flat!
An excerpt from his email about his first bike accident on the mission..."(It was raining)....We rode to our dinner appointment, we were soaking wet, on the way there in a cross walk my bag slide into my knee and I fell off my bike! Landing on my hands and knees. It hurt a little bit and I got a small hole in my black pants."
One of the places they ate lunch this week was called The Drowning Taco, here is a link in case you want to look it up https://thedrowningtaco.com/
They did some service....for service we pulled weeds for almost 2hrs for an older woman.
Another excerpt from his email...This week was great! It went by pretty fast! I am so glad we are able to call home and talk with family! It is a great blessing!
Picture of him, his companion (Elder Asay), a young lady that was baptized and a former missionary.
