Today is email day!  We got an email and some pictures! I love this picture of them!  This is his companion. Two group photos of people he goes to classes with! Things this past week were okay for him, he ended up getting a cold but is feeling much better now! It seems like one of his favorite things is choir practice, the teacher really makes it interesting by sharing stories.  He was able to watch a few movies including:  "The Testaments," "A Christmas Carol," "It's a Wonderful Life," "My Broken Horse Christmas." This is a quote from his email.... We went to see a Nativity it was pretty good and a little funny because all the  actors were little kids. The best part of the nativity for me was when  they played the song “Gethsemane", (from the children’s hymn book I  think) It had a video to go along with it, the video showed parts of  Christ’s life along with children singing in the background of the  video, t...

Christmas Call!

We just had an amazing call from Elder Miller!  He is doing well, adjusting to life away from home.  They have been watching movies and they had a visit from Elder Bednar and his wife. Justin sang in a choir that was part of this visit. This was broadcast to different Missionary Training Center's around the world!  If we find a recording of this, we will put it on here for everyone to see.  We got to meet his companion, Elder B, and serveral other missionaries via Skype!  His companion is also going to the Quito Ecuador North Mission!  One of the other missionaries told us that he saw our missonary do a 10 minute plank in the gym the other day, the only reason he stopped was because their gym time was over!  Elder Miller said he is trying to get physically fit because he will have to walk up mountains when he gets to Ecuador! We are so happy to have technology available that allowed us to see and talk to him even though there were a few hiccups. ...

Hi Everyone! I got an email from him today!  He had a lot to tell me.  His trip went well, only a few minor things like the gate being switched, waiting to land at the Salt Lake Airport because of a little snow, finding his luggage since his gate was switched.  He enjoyed flying and thinks he will enjoy it more when he isn't feeling sad.   Everyone has been very kind and supportive!  He likes his companion, they have similar interests so that helps.  Learning Spanish is a struggle but he is working hard at learning.  He is having a lot of cool experiences!  He got to sing in a choir performance!  He shared that he really enjoyed watching this, the link is for the text only... https://www.lds.org/new-era/2017/10/a-christlike-character?lang=eng

Hi Everyone, Justin and I talked about starting this blog so our friends and family can keep up with his mission.  We left early this morning (2 am) to take him to the airport (thanks for driving us Hendershot Family!), he is now at the Provo Missionary Training Center where he will spend approximately six weeks.  Thank you all so much for your kind words and support as he begins his mission! This is a picture of him from last night, December 11, 2018
